RFID Solutions Center Dayton To Collaborate With Leading Universities For RFID Innovation And Education

February6, 2006, Dayton, OHThe RFID Solutions Center Dayton, a division of Alien Technology Corporation, today announced it is collaborating with five leading Ohio universities to develop and execute programs for Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology education, research and development. The Ohio State University, Ohio University Center for Automatic Identification, part of the Russ College of Engineering and Technology, Wilberforce University, Wright State University, and the University of Cincinnati have agreed to collaborate with the RFID Solutions Center in such activities as developing RFID curriculums; promoting and enhancing RFID studies, including student internship at the Solutions Center; and facilitating faculty consulting engagements at the Center, among other potential joint projects.

“A state with a rich history of technology innovation, Ohio boasts some of the nation’s most highly regarded technical education resources,” said Damon Bramble, General Manager, RFID Solution Center Dayton. “There are exciting opportunities for the RFID Solutions Center and various institutions of higher learning to work together, from guest instruction and consulting to research and development. We look forward to further exploring these opportunities for the benefit of both the educational and the RFID user communities.”

Dedicated to RFID discovery, innovation and successful implementation, the 23,000 square foot RFID Solutions Center Dayton encompasses sophisticated technical labs, and extensive test and piloting facilities, as well as the capital equipment needed to simulate a wide range of “real-world” RFID situations for supply chains in the consumer packaged goods, retail, transportation, defense and pharmaceuticals industries.
