Alien Technology® Showcases Latest Advances In RFID Technology and Products at RFID Europe 2005
October 17, 2005 , Morgan Hill , CA – As part of its commitment to helping drive the growing adoption of RFID technology across Europe ,Alien Technology will showcase its latest EPC RFID products, technologies and customer applications at RFID Europe 2005, in Frankfurt am Main , Germany , October 20 and 21. Alien founder and RFID pioneer, Dr. John Stephen Smith, will also address the conference as part of the Keynote Panel, “Lessons Learned From First Deployments,” on October 21.
Technology Demonstrations
Advanced technology demonstrations at the Alien stand will include exhibitions of ETSI-standard EPC Class Gen 2 RFID readers and tags, including demonstrations of the new Gen 2 software upgrade to the ETSI EN 302-208-certified Alien ALR-8780 reader and a preview of Alien’s new line of ultra-low cost, Gen 2-compliant, 866 MHz Squiggle Tags. Alien’s line of Battery-Assisted Passive (BAP) RFID readers and tags will also be demonstrated for long range identification, cold chain sensor monitoring, asset tracking and other long-range, low-power applications.
Gen 2 Tutorial & Training Session
Alien will also offer a special Gen 2 training course, entitled Introduction to Class 1 Gen 2 for the European Market, for attendees to RFID Europe 2005. Taught by the instructors of the Alien Academy , the RFID industry’s leading training course, the half-day session will include a tutorial on Gen 2 by Dr. Smith. Class attendees will also receive a complimentary two-day pass to RFID Europe 2005. Alien Executives Speaking Sessions
In addition, Alien executives will participate in two speaking sessions on October 21:
- 9:00AM – Alien vice president, International, Andrew Berger, will join the Head of Supply Chain Services of Rolls Royce plc in a session entitled “Lessons Learned: RFID in the Supply Chain.”
- 12:15AM – Alien founder and CTO, Dr. John Stephen Smith, will participate in the Keynote Panel: “Lessons Learned From First Deployments.”
