Alien Technology Announces Election of Stan Meresman to Board of Directors
June 1, 2005, Morgan Hill, CA — Alien Technology® today announced the election of Stan Meresman to the company's Board of Directors. Most recently a Venture Partner with Technology Crossover Ventures and a former CFO of Silicon Graphics and Cypress Semiconductor, Meresman brings to Alien's board a 28-year track record of providing financial and operational leadership to high growth companies.

An advisor to numerous high growth companies, Mr. Meresman was most recently with Technology Crossover Ventures (TCV), a leading provider of growth capital to high tech companies, where he served as General Partner and Chief Operating Officer. Previously, he was Senior Vice President and CFO of Silicon Graphics, Inc. (SGI) from 1989 to 1997. During his tenure, SGI grew revenue form $250 million to $3.8 billion, completed four major acquisitions, and formed more than a dozen key strategic alliances. Prior to SGI, Mr. Meresman was at Cypress Semiconductor where he served as Vice President, Finance and Administration and CFO as the company grew from $2 million to more than $100 million and successfully completed its IPO.
Mr. Meresman currently serves on the Board of Directors of Polycom, Inc. (NASDAQ: PLCM) and Riverbed Technology, Inc. He has been a guest lecturer at Stanford Graduate School of Engineering Capital Formation course and at a Harvard Business School management course. He holds a B.S. degree in Industrial Engineering & Operations from the University of California, Berkeley and a MBA degree from Stanford Graduate School of Business.
